Things you need to know about Szarvas

Szarvas is a town in the Békés region, in south-eastern Hungary. With a population of nearly 18,000 people, the settlement covers 160 square kilometers. In English, the name of the city means "deer". The first agricultural school in the Kingdom of Hungary was established here by a scientist and engineer named Samuel Tesedik, in his honor being erected a museum with the same name.
