The capital of Hungary is a famous tourist destination, and not coincidentally, its beautiful architecture, the countless tourist attractions, restaurants and hotels surely satisfy every expectation. Hungary has many charming smaller towns and lovely places as well, it is not that easy to choose the most beautiful places in the country.

Tokaj, one of the best wine-producing regions of the world

According to the United States renowned journal, the Wine Enthusiast, Tokaj is one of the top ten wine tourist destinations of the world among landscapes as the American Santa Barbara or the French Champagne.
The magazine said that the wine, the scenery, the gastronomy and the cultural opportunities of this countrysie are remarkable. The Tokaj was a wine-growing region before the Hungarian Conquest, and since 2002 it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape.

Margaret Island, the fifth best jogging place of the world

On the columns of the Irish Times newspaper the Margaret Island in Budapest is mentioned among the world’s best jogging places and it is listed along with places such as the Silver Lake in Los Angeles, the Hyde Park in London and the Dover Heoghts in Sydney. Besides the running place of the Margaret Island in the ranking of the place the marvelous panoramic view of the city and the beauty of the Danube played an important role as well. Margaret was the daughter of IV King Bela who lives on the island in a Dominican Nunnery. The place bares her name from the 14th century.

Tram 2 in Budapest, the seventh most beautiful tram line in the world

The tram 2 in Budapest was included in the National Geographic’s book: Journeys of  Lifetime as one of the ten most beautiful tram lines. The wonderful tram line won the 7th place besides the 501 Queen in Toronto or the Streetcar F. in San Francisco. The tram 2 is operating since the Second World War, and runs along the Danube. The tram is also perfect for sightseeing looking towards the Pest side you can admire the Parliament, the Chain Bridge and the Danube promenade from close, and if you look down to the water, you can see almost the entire beautiful Buda side framed by the slowly flowing water of the river.
