Mátraháza is an other of the top 3 romantic hideaways in Hungary and means the house of Matra. It is a settlement that is administratively belonging to the city of Gyöngyös in Heves county. The name of the village was given because of a pagoda style shelter house built between 1927 and 1930 which is still standing at the border of the village and operating as a hotel. It is not the only hotel in the area, in the recent years were built several comfortable and stylish hotels in the area. Mátraháza is one of the best starting point for trips, the Kékestető hill top is located at only 2.6 km away. This woodland walk can be made even by those that are not experienced hikers. If you are tired of the mountain walks relax in the spa of a four-star hotel.

The salt hill of Egerszalok is lying in the surroundings of the city of Eger and looks like the Turkish Pamukkale. The hill is actually made of limestone precipitated and deposited from the local thermal water. For long you could dip in the hot mineral spring in harsh circumstances, but in the recent years have been built several comfortable spa hotels that makes Egerszalók a perfect romantic destination in Hungary. The thermal water contains hydrogen carbonate, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and is physically and mentally refreshing, then in the evening you can have a romantic dinner and a few glasses of wine in one the many wineries.

You should also visit the cave houses at the end of the Saffron street that were inhabited until the 1960s and today are operating as a museum.
